Meet the Designer
I’m Polly the florist here at Polly’s Petals Floristry. I work from my little workshop based just outside of Alnwick, Northumberland.
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved flowers, it started with Foxglove fingers and fairy wands, before picking flowers from my parents’ garden to arrange. I learnt to garden from my father, spending many spring evenings sowing seeds and dividing perennials. I’ve also always had a passion for art, textiles and design, so it was inevitable that I would settle for a creative career.
Trained at the Tallulah Rose Flower School, I have a passion for sustainable floristry and design with seasonal, natural materials. I take great inspiration from the British countryside and the traditions of English country gardens.
I specialise in bespoke weddings, events and farewell flowers alongside running floral workshops. In June 2023, I had the pleasure of hosting a hand-tied bouquet workshop for Robson Green and his sisters for Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes.
A lot of my floral material comes from my garden and Northumbrian farms which allows me to pick the very best of what’s in season, be it armfuls of sweet-scented honeysuckle to bundles of aromatic water mint. This constant variation of material allows me to showcase a great variety of colours, textures and tones.
I love working with people to bring their floral vision to life. Often I work to a particular theme or colour pallet when designing wedding flowers and regularly design to express someone’s personality when creating farewell flowers.
